Yes. Currently, this Summer, 2026 Dr. FitzGerald is accepting new patients.

As of Spring 2026 we do not have membership fees. We offer a flat hourly rate to all patients who recieve concierge style care without the added fees or high costs of most functional medicine direct pay providers in our area.

Yes. Telehealth visits are an option. It is strongly recommended that new patient initial visits be conducted in person.

Yes. Dr. FitzGerald has prescription authority for the State of Connecticut. When needed, she will prescribe traditional pharmaceuticals in addition to lifestyle, dietary, homeopathic, and herbal remedies.

First visits are typically 2 hours. Follow-up visits often range from 1 hour or more, depending on patient needs.

The frequency of appointments varies based on the condition being treated. Most commonly, though, Dr. FitzGerald will see you for a follow up appointment within 1 month after your initial visit to go over lab or test results. Sometimes you will require follow-up every 2-3 months until your condition is resolved or stable. If urgent labs result, you will be requested to plan a brief telehealth visit to review and plan next steps until the remainder of your testing is completed.

When needed, Dr. FitzGerald advises on the use of high-quality, practitioner-grade products. Many of the brands recommended can only be found through health care practitioners and their affiliate links. Dr. FitzGerald creates personalized plans for her patients through her online Fullscript Dispensary, where patients can purchase what has been recommended and have products shipped directly to their door. Dr. FitzGerald also has active accounts with NutraMedix, LymeCore Botanicals, & Wells Supplements.

Dr. FitzGerald is a Direct Pay Provider and does not accept insurance. You may submit your superbill to your insurance company, which may reimburse you for a portion of your visit fees as an “out-of-network provider.” Patients can submit these statements which are always available under your Athena patient portal. Some patients also use their HSAs or FSAs to cover their visit fees. We do not guarantee coverage for visits, supplements, or lab fees. Card information is collected upon booking your first visit to hold your appointment. Payment is processed and collected in full upon completion of your treatment plan. A non-refundable $100 no show fee will be collected for any missed appointments.

Yes, Dr. FitzGerald accepts most major credit cards. Cash and check are not accepted. Payment is to be made once you receive your billing statement, which will be sent to you within a few days of your visit via the Athena platform and patient portal. All invoices will be accessible via your portal for you to download and submit for any insurance reimbursement. We do not guarantee insurance coverage for our services or for lab fees incurred.

Cancelling an appointment requires two full business days’ notice with the expectation that the patient will try to reschedule for a better date/time. We know life gets busy and emergencies happen! Please know that cancellation without proper notice will result in a late fee of $100.

Summer is peak tick season in New England, and protecting yourself and your family from tick- and mosquito-borne infections is essential. Many people don't realize that a tick-borne infection can be contracted even during a single day at the beach.
What sets our practice apart is our advanced, ILADS-trained approach to Lyme and tick-borne illness. As a functional and integrative practice, we look beyond a single diagnosis to the full picture of a patient's health — including hidden factors that make tick-borne infections harder to treat.
One of the most overlooked complicating factors is mold and mycotoxin exposure. Many of our region's classic summer camps, beach cottages, and lakeside homes carry underlying mold issues. For some patients, an unrecognized mold toxicity burden can mask symptoms and slow recovery from a tick-borne infection — a connection often missed in conventional care, but one we routinely screen for.

FROM THE HUTCHINSON PARKWAY NORTH/ I-684N or ROUTE 35: Take the Hutchinson Parkway North to Exit 6/ Route 35/ Cross River, turning right from the off-ramp onto Route 35. Follow Rte. 35 for approximately 11 miles. Route 35 will stop at a “T-intersection” stop sign in Ridgefield, where it merges, after a left turn, with Main Street. From the T-intersection/ stop sign turn left onto Route 35 North/ Main Street.
